A bronze-red drake was flying, over a city, around a mountain's spires, up, down, left, right. She hadn't flown in months, and it almost made her feel like she had never flown at all. Menzatyl was having the time of her life for the first time since she had gotten released. She had been burned badly by a Pyro in a bad mood and had spent the last few months healing and recuperating. Now she was in the soothing hot air again. Oh! How she had missed it. She sighed annoyedly and flew to the ground as she looked over her shoulder and saw that there was another dragon behind her. She wasn't going to get incinerated again.

Pyral looked blankly over Pyrallis, her golden eyes barely taking in everthing she saw. The people of Pyrallis were so very dull these days. Most of them were just trying to make a living, get rich or something. Boring boring boring BORING. None of them were depressed, enraged, estatic...No. One of them was estatic. Very much so...Why? She should find out. Nothing better to do as yet, anyhow.
No point in getting Kordymi. I can make my own models and posses my own mortals. Coincidentially, there was a mortal fairly close by. A young Red. A real hot-head with a quick temper and a wild affinity for torching things. Not that it mattered. The true spirit of the mortal would have minimal influence on the occupant. All that mattered was that he was strong and would have only the slightest discomfort when being possesed. Perfect for her. Especially because he was alrready loosened up and flying. No stiffness to deal with.
"Now, if you'll just slow down..." The little demon was zigzagging all over the place. Every time she tried to focus he'd veer off somewhere. "Slow DOWN." She narrowed her eyes and a moment later the draconet was captured in a small, focused tornado. HE was going nowhere...Possesion time. Pyal stared hard at him for a moment, than gave a small smaile as she was sucked through the air and into the form of the struggling mortal. For a moment there was a battling of essence, but the goddess was superior.
The body wasn't quite as comfortable as simply moving around freely, but they never were. This was acctually about as good as it got. Nothing too difficult, too refining. All in all it was a fairly good deal. Now to find the other mortal...Ah. There she was. Now to investigate...
"Hey! Bronze!" She was faintly surprised by the masculine rumble in her throat, though ignored it more or less.

Menzatyl positively whooped with delight when the tornado appeared out of nowhere. No doubt it was the work of the blessed sun goddess Pyral. She flew up, down, around, and through the wind storm, a huge grin on her face. She was surprised at what she saw when she looked in the direction she was going to turn next. That Pyro that had been behind her was caught in the middle of this! He didn't seem to be having a very good time either. Jeez. He's acting like he's in the middle of being possessed or something.
She flew over when he gained control of himself and called to her. She approached cautiosly in case he was just looking for trouble. Leading him out of the storm, she tunred and made herself ready to drop to the ground into defense mode if she had to. "Can I help you?"

"Yes. I have a question for you." Pyral cocked the angular head to the side, bright yellow eyes focused on the bronze in the kind of curiosity only the exceedingly bored can conjure. "You seem overly happy for some reason. Why?" Wow. Could she possibly be any flatter? Probably not. "I've been lurking around, and you're the only mortal around who seems interesting." CRAP! Crap, crap, double crap! She always gave herself away! This was why gods only went down on rare occasions! So they didn't make stupid mistakes! But perhaps the mortal wouldn't notice or care? Perhaps.
In an attempt to cover up the flaw in her words, she continued as though she'd said nothing out of the ordinary. "Everyone else is just surviving...You're making a good time of it." Lame. Lame to the point of stupidity. Why did she bother...She hadn't even confronted Hycroun about Kordymi's missing magic water. Not yet, at least. There were so many celestial concerns...How could she be bored? Ah, well. Nothing she could worry about for now. What she had to make sure of at the moment was that the being before her had no idea it was the goddess of all of Pyrallis that she spoke to. Even if it meant - no. She wouldn't drop so far. It would be heartless of her...

Mortal?! Isn't he mortal, too? He had been acting as though he were being possessed. I wonder... "A few months ago I got incinerated by a Pyro in a bad mood. I only just got released by the apothecaries." She paused and wondered do I dare it? She thought about it for a while and came to a decision. I dare. "May I ask who you are?"

The relaxed smile Pyral has planted across her face faltered, and the red-scaled body she was using stiffened. She knows... She'd best come up with something good, and quickly. What she wouldn't give for some kind of intrusion or distraction right now...
"I am-" A pause. Damn. I should have thought about names before I came out here. A name, a name... She racked the mind of the mortal for half a moment, then finding what she needed finished her begun sentence. "- Kythrael. Despite my appearance, I'm not - in fact - a pure-blood Pyro. About two generations back I got mixed with Pyrahyc. Doesn't show up too much due to the fact that, as far as I know, all others have been a pure red." She shrugged and tried to look casual. "Most of my family scorns my line, but my parent's still act as though we're descendants of gods or something..." That should be enough explanation for this rather sharp mortal.
In an attempt to change the subject, she asked, "Incinerated, huh? That couldn't have been pleasant. Especially because it was a Pyro that did it." Throwing on a joking tone, she continued: "Should have prayed more. Gods might've heard you." She winked and twisted back-wards, falling into a slow dive. "Been some time since I really stretched my wings, come to think or it!" She let loose a bray of rumbling laughter, almost choking on the coarse vibrations in her throat. This, m'lady is why we females refrain from possessing males... She almost laughed again at the thought.

"Hmmm." Menzatyl could tell that Kythrael was lying. He's been possessed. The question is: by who? Definitely not Hycroun. She would never survive. Kordymi? Perhaps, but unlikely. The only god she could think of that would both have to possess a mortal to spy on another or indeed care was Pyral. She was not a stupid dragon. She dove down and whispered in his ear. "I'm not stupid. And you of all people should know that I did and do pray.......Pyral." She swooped back up and began to search the mountain for a cave seeing as it was beginning to get dark.

With a venomous hiss, Pyral escaped the body of the mortal and fled up into the sky, not noticing the being she'd possessed dropping ten feet in confusion. Any other time it would have been amusing, but now she was in more trouble than ever before. The mortal knew, and the goddess’s options were few. She would either have to kill the blood-mixed bronze, threaten her into silence, or - preferably - put the young being on her side of the board.
Pyral choose the last.
Using her claws to swirl the wind and few clouds into one great hurricane, she moved the storm directly over the creature of her attention, trapping it in the eye. The rain and cloud were so compacted they formed spinning and convulsing walls around the dragon. There they could talk freely. This would be far easier to simply go in essence. Subtlety didn't matter anymore. Not with this knowledge on the loose. Now, she would need a form of proper materials for proper effect, but what - Ah. Yes. Yes that would be perfect...
Using air and dust, she created a loose and larger-than-life model of herself for exceedingly temporary uses, placing it just above the hurricane before entering the hollow model herself. What with it being made of such thin materials, one could see a vague, fire-like figure inside of it. Good. Would make it perfectly clear to the mortal just who she was talking to. Couldn't have any confusion in such a desperate case.
Pyral let herself fall until her body - at least six times greater than that of her query – was directly in front of the bronze. Her eyes were literally filled with fire, as was her mouth. Wings appeared shredded, her claws and body indistinct. Not exactly a comforting thing to see.
With a velvet hiss not dissimilar to the sound of a dying fire, she spoke. “You are clever, Menzatyl. Too clever…Or perhaps just clever enough.” Lowering her neck until she was eye-to-eye with the mortal, she continued. “I have a proposal for you, dragon. Should you refuse, I will have to kill you. I am, as you discovered, Pyral, though I am as bound by rules as any of you. Because you know that the gods walk Pyrallis, my choices as to how to deal with you are limited. The option that is favorable to others is to simply end your life, though there is something else. I will give you protection and the ability to recognize and converse with any godly creature you see. In return, you keep your silence. Should you tell anyone, you and the being or beings to which you spoke to will be slain.” Letting a wisp of flame lick the dragon’s scales as she spoke, “Make your choice.”

Menzatyl kept her expression as smooth as stone. "That would be nice, but I won't talk. At all. I'm just more observant than others. Besides, I think it's neat that you take the initiative to find out more about mortals you're interested in. I personally don't have loose lips. I expect it's too late to propose being at least aqcuaintences?"

Pyral drew back, a look of unhidden disbelief on her draconic features.
"Nothing? You want nothing in return for keeping your knowledge as only your knowledge?" She rose to her full height and shook her head in disbelief. "Do you lie, dragon?....No. I don't need you to tell me. You don't. And yet..." Using her tail, Pyral lifted Menzatyl up to her eye-level. "you refuse my offer." She let her tail drop and looked up into the sky."However, it is my duty as goddess of all to give you something to you in return. Anything, as long as it repays the debt I now find myself in."
An idea flashed across Pyral's mind, causing her to grin widely at the other being. It was small in size, large in use, and utterly convenient.
"Take this, Menzatyl." She plucked what looked like fire from her body, but when handed to the dragoness proved to be one golden-red scale that danced with inner fire, flashing and glowing despite the shadows of the storm clouds. "Should you ever find yourself in a dire situation, simply put this to flame. I will come for you." With that, the sand that held her together dropped to the ground and her visible spirit tore through the air with an other-worldly cry, leaving the mortal behind with the scale of the most powerful goddess.

Menzatyl watched Pyral fly back into the sky and looked down at the scale in disbelief. A scale from the hide of Pyral herself! What an honor. Pyral's own scale. Gods, I can't believe it. Wow. At that point she looked to her right and couldn't believe her luck. All the other caves she had looked at had been too small, but this one that was right there was perfect! Honors all around. She went in and, tucking the scale in a safe place, settled down to sleep for the night. In the morning I'll have to go to town and buy a neck pouch to carry this in. Gods... She barely even finished her thought before she drifted off to sleep....
ooc- sorry about that 'friends' thing last time. I was rather museless and in a rush when I wrote it.

OOC: Meh, no problem. I, myself, seem to be having some trouble with staying alive on these boards...By the way, the scale works. I'm keeping tabs on every RP in this place so if you ever need it - well, you know how it works...
