As Smoak spread his large wings, floating on the updraft, his mind raced. Fyrah was Pyral, and the other pheonix was another god, probably Kydormi. His memory went to the time where they first met, only the morning before. What a talk! He hadn't had such a chat in a long time. Everyone was too busy surviving to think about things.
As the large black dragon flew over the open desert, he wondered what would happen when they discover he had listened, which they were bound to find out.
But, as he was flying, something small and tan suddenly plowed into him from the side. Tumbling shortly, he regained his balance and search angrily for the drake who had attacked. He found a rather small tan dragon diving toward him, which he now easily dodged.
"What is the matter with you? I have no trouble with you, dragon."
The strange drake just smiled and charged again. Smoak dodged yet again, but let his claw leave a thin, long scratch on the the dragon's side. Now he was getting annoyed.
"What is your problem?!?" He asked softly, menace laced in his voice.
And to his surprise, the dragon answered. "You." And he dove again.
Smoak didn't dodge this time, and hit the dragon full force with his shoulder, sending him tumbling through the air. "Me? Why me?"
"Because you survived when you weren't supposed to. You were supposed to end like you father."
That statement struck him to the core. Staring strangely at the smirking drake, Smoak mumbled to himself.
ooc- Whoo... that took a while. If you are confused, look at Smoak's profile. That should explain it.... Smoak's got a powerful enemy... with lots o' hencemen.... This is gonna be fun...`

The black dragon looked as though he could protect himself, but Menzatyl recognized the tan drake as her elder brother, Kolschni. Even though he wasn't the youngest, that was Menzatyl, he had definitely always been the smallest. As Kolschni charged again, Menzatyl dove through the air and grabbed him in her talons. "And just what the hell do you think you're doing, Kolschni?!" She looked him in the eye and spat a bit of fire in his face, just for old time's sake.

Smoak snapped out of his faze and flew over them.
"You know this menace? Then do you mind if I kill him?" His orange eyes had shrunk to slits, focusing on the struglling tan dragon.
As Menzatyl had grabbed him, he had swung around to face the blast full force. Coughing, he struggled.
"Menzatyl, let go of me!" He struggled more. "I have a job to do!!"

She glared at Smoak. "Yes, I mind if you kill him, and yes I know him." She turned her gaze back to Kolschni. "He's my elder brother."
She reduced her eyes to slits as she glared at her brother. "A job? For who?" When Kolschni looked away and didn't answer her she got very angry. Fire poured from her mouth as she roared at her brother. "KOLSCHNI. ANSWER ME! FOR WHO?!"

Kolschni took a deep breath and said "I can't tell you. Even if I could, I wouldn't. A- It's none of your business, and B- He'd take you." He struggled some more. "Now, let me go!!! This guy has gotta go!!"
Smoak scoffed. "You couldn't take me if you tried." That statement puzzled him. Was it arrogance? He hadn't done any of that for a while. Normally he would have either killed him or left. Why stay?

Menzatyl slammed Kolschni against a wall and fire burned in her eyes. Whenever she spoke, her voice came out in a hiss, like a snake's. "Kolschni, listen to me. Listen closely. A-You're my brother. Everything you do is my business. B-Who would take me? C-Who is this black dragon and why has he, as you say, 'got to go'?" She put a carefully sharpened talon up to her brother's throat. "Answer me Kolschni. You've only ever gotten me this mad once before, and you remember what happened then, don't you? You do. I can see it in your eyes. Answer me Kolschni, or I swear I'll do it again."

Kolschni gulped, the talon close to his neck. "The drake's go to go because his dad knew something, which means he knows, and the big guy has his mom and doesn't want to let go." He gulped and quivered. Before he could say more, though, Smoak spoke.
"You mean she's still alive?!?" He roared. "Where?!? Where are you murderous scum keeping her?!?"
"I don't know where!!" Kolschni whined pitifully. "That's all I know!! The big 'man' doesn't show himself!! He contacts us, pays us, and tells us what to do!! That's all I know!!" HE seemed to wilt under his sister. "Please, please don't do it again!"
ooc- I g2g for a while. dinner. Byes!!

Menzatyl was still seething, and probably would be for days to come. She turned to the black drake. "What's your name? I might not do what I did last time, but Kolschni will pay for attacking you." She turned her attention back to her brother. "Remember Kolschni, I said I might not do it again. I didn't promise. But you will pay. I promise that."

Smoak shook his head. "No."
Kolschni stopped struggling for a moment. "What?"
"no. This is not your fight, and to tell you the truth, it was only a matter of time. One of them would have come after me sooner or later. Your brother made this desicion. It's up to him, not you, to fix it. If he does want to, good for him. If not, bring it on." He paused. "And you, you can't do anything to affect that decision."

Menzatyl's anger actually ebbed a bit when Smoak called her, but flared again when she looked at Kolschni. "Fine. I won't interfere. But if you get yourself killed, Kolschni, then I will pray to Pyral that she gives you to Hycroun." At this she let her brother go and flew a safe distance, settling on a rooftop.

Smoak spiralled up, a small smile tugging at his lips. He would not hurt the foolish drake too much. Just enough to send him limping to his 'master' after the fight. Bringing his wings close to him, he waited for the tan dragon to attack.
Kolschni gulped again and spread his wings out wide. This was not the way things were dupposed to go. His sister was not supposed to be here, and the big black drake was supposed to be a coward at heart and easily defeated. Crynos was a lier. A big, fat, lier. Suddenly Kolschni had the impulse to run. Run far and fast. The sight of the huge dragon before him and his sister behind him did nothing but help the impulse. But when you worked with Crynos, there were worse things than death. His heart thumping, he made a rush at Smoak, trying to get at his throat.
Smoak easily side-swiped the drake as he flew by, letting a claw lazily draw a long scratch down the dragon's side. He did not want this fight to be over quickly, he would draw the drake in close and foriegn weakness. Then the fight would last much longer and wouldn't leave the stupid animal so crushed when he left him wounded. The black dragon made to blow a shot of black fire over Kolschni's back, making it look like he had just dodged a blow.
Kolschni knew he was outmatched when he took the first rush. Smoak had easily dodged him and left him a painful scar that would be there for a while. After the plume of smoke just missed him, his confidence boosted a little. Maybe this guy wasn't all he looked to be. Suddenly bolder, he feinted to the left and made a swipe that left a small scratch on the black drake's hide. Maybe his skills weren't too good, but his scales were. This was still going to be harder than he thought.
As suddenly as the fight started, it stopped. Suddenly bored, Smoak decided to end the scrape. Coming suddenly up to Kolschni, he slammed him square on the shoulder and knocked him to the ground, which was a fair way away, before he could correct himself. Without waiting for Kolschni to get up, he winged away.
Kolschni, caught by surprise, slammed hard into the ground, going up in a cloud of dust. Coughing, he realized teh dust hid him, and he ducked into a small cave under the shadow of the cloud. He severly hoped his sister would not find him. Finding the cave led somewhere else, he loped through the tunnel and out the other side, which was well away from the site where he landed, and the terrain was very different. Suddenly very weary, he glided dejectedly toward where he was to make his report, knowing all too well what happened to failure.
Smoak, not looking back, flew over the sparse things that could scarsely be called trees. Cracked and mangled, they were charred wrecks, not proper for even the tinyest whelp to sit on. Smoak dove expertly through the twisted branches, only hitting a few, which promptly snapped off. Landing softly, he leaned against the lagre 'tree', causing charred bark to flake off, falling like black snow. The black dragon directed his thoughts to what he had found out today, which was alot. One, Fyrah was Pyral, which means he had conversed and walked out on a god. Two, his mother was still alive, and valued by the drake that had her. Three, that drake wanted him dead. Absorbing this, Smoak fell into a light sleep, one eye open and still wondering if he would see or hear from Pyral any time soon.
ooc- jeez... that took a while.... and so Kolschni leaves forever (for now anyway) That was interesting.. and just shows how modest yet concieted Smoak can be.... oh, and guys? Don't yell at eachother. It should be me your made at, cause I was the one who did the first one-liner in the first place. So there. Nyhhha.
